Florida County Cancels Civil Rights Education Workshop

Three presentations covering historical stages, educational decision covering historical stages, Washington’s march in Washington, University of Mississippi and boycott Montgomery bus. The seminar participants will work with a curriculum to translate this historic class in relevant lesson plans and class reserves.

After a new legislation in Florida, the seminar was canceled, and wanted to manage the teaching of a number of republican government legislators and the American history. It is not difficult to understand why the region cancel this program. The legislation is so unconciled that the legislation places the school managers where it is better to be better than regret.

According to the NCHE Executive Director Grace Leatherman, the district officials use the initial source materials of the seminar, including large migration and pessy v. Ferregan’s “separate but equal” doctrine, also the images of the Supreme Court of the Supreme Court, as well as a football rights.

The problem is that significant cases such as great migration and space are forced to face the racism and the white advantage to face the extent to help protect the race hierarchy. Although the theory of the critical competition is not taught in public schools, it is a tool among many that helps to better understand the history.

Pay attention to the fact that there was a secondary source as an evidence that arises from the 1619 project, but primary sources, but the basic sources of any historical interpretation. Meaning when you are looking at the legislation:

Let’s put it out that this statement has nothing to do with the study of history or history education. Nothing but an order above. As a threat to the idea that history is ‘not constructing’ or interpretation shows primary sources as the above. The only initial source that seems important is the announcement of independence.

Of course, something sad is that these seminars voluntarily, these teachers lost the opportunity to learn an incredibly talented historian and teacher.

Two years ago, I knew Professor Butler as a result of the invitation to speak at the Flagler College on my last book. In addition to the talks, I was invited to participate in two of the classes. Professor Butler is an excellent teacher and most of the career is a seminars for history teachers and others. I highly recommend his book, Outside of integration: Florida, black freedom struggle in Escambia County in the 1960s and 1980s.

This is the result of lies coming from fear mongering and almost the Republican MPs. They managed to turn history teachers into the enemies of the state. In the event of a sufficient history of most history teachers, white students know that they are persecuted in person to feel responsible for the race and hate themselves for them.

We will see more stories like this in the coming years. Teachers will continue to retire a large number and will become more difficult to fill their shoes. Undoubtedly, I cannot blame anyone who chooses not to teach history in this current environment.
