Microsoft rows Back with VBS-ENLAVE-SURE SEARCH NOTICE

Microsoft has specified Plans for VBS ENKLAVA Notification in older versions of Windows. Existing applications will continue to be supported as long as no new signature is required. Change affects Windows 11 23H2 and previous versions.

VBS enclaves are partially saved

Microsoft has partially reviewed his decision to refute VBS enclaves in older versions of Windows. Under certain conditions, the security function in Windows 11 23H2 and previous versions continue to support. This adaptation follows the original announcement in April, which caused concerns between developers and security experts.

What are VBS enclaves and why are they important?

VBS angels (virtualization -based security enclaves) represent a central security mechanism in Windows 11. They enable isolated environments for sensitive data and program code, which prevents unauthorized entry from other applications or operating system. This technology is used in the Microsoft Azure SQL database and the Windows 11 attraction function.

New Regulation in detail

The strength of the VBS enclaves lies in creating virtual levels of faith (VTL) within a Software -based faith enforcement environment. A great advantage is that you do not require any special equipment and work on all Windows supported PCs. The original decision, therefore, had caused irritation, as Microsoft had not given a specific reason for placing function in older systems.

The change was discovered until May 5 by the Online Neowin Magazine. Accordingly, the support of existing enclaves, which have been signed with prolonged use of the key (EC) 1.3.6.1.4.1.31.76.57.1.15, have existed as long as no changes have been made. If the new signature is needed, the new equity is used, and the enclave relies only on Windows 11 24h2 and subsequent versions. The Regulation specifically affects the following operating systems:

• Windows 10, 22H2 version
• Windows 11, 22H2 version
• Windows 11, 23H2 version
• Windows 11, version 24h2 and later

Effects for users and developers

For most home users, the effects of this change remain manageable. Windows 11 23H2 will fall from the regular support cycle in November 2025. Developers, on the other hand, should consider this new regulation, especially if they keep applications using VBS enclaves.
