The latest Addition to Google Maps does not seem to have a name – it’s just a way to better use screen views. Google explains that “uses Gemini skills to identify the places mentioned in your footage and helps keep them in a list for you, making travel planning a breeze.”

Sounds good? Avorablable available on your Google Maps tab where you should see a list of screens screens and a “try it!” label. To begin with, you will need to give Google Maps permission to access your photos, and from this point ahead, things need to take care of themselves.

Google explains:

  1. Next time you get a screen view that includes location information, head to Google Maps after.
  2. If Maps recognize a place, a message will be displayed telling you there are places ready for you to examine.
  3. Tap “Review” and decide whether you want to save the image on your screen screen list or not. (You can also add these images to the other lists later, if desired.)
  4. You also have the opportunity to upload screenshots by hand: when you are in the app, select the list of screens under your tab. From there, you can upload pictures by hand. The rest of the process is the same!
  5. You will see the places stored directly on your map or you can go to the list through your tab to access while you are on the go.
