Genius algorithm – and rose he

Sometimes it becomes a very impressive algorithmic achievement and needs to be celebrated. GPT-3 is a great example. GPT-3 is the amazing engineering and data science and very well deserved it receives a lot of media attention. But for each GPT-3 there are hundreds of thousands of solutions that are based on standard algorithms and not necessarily a genius achievement, but a textbook approach.

It may sound like I am going to many solutions to him there, but in fact it is vice versa. Going for an independent genius solution is for the vast majority of AI cases not in the right way to go. Standard algorithms in most cases can be easily enough for the task in question and everything beyond this effort is usually bad business.

Caution when someone claims a genius or even special algorithm

Given all this, I still hear a lot about the “Unique”, “Find” or “Special” algorithm that a company has developed to solve a problem. I often hear terms like this in the media and the fact that this is so popular makes a lot of sense. When you have a business you want to trade and sell your product at a high price. It also helps to scare competition when they think that the entrance barrier to making a particular product or solution is very high. But this is what the genius algorithm is 99 by 100 times. A marketing message.

In reality, most of it has standard algorithms such as CNN, random forest or even logistical regression that some will claim to be not it. These algorithms can be used by most novice developers using freely available frames such as Tenorflow or Scikit Learn.

My main reason to write this post is the same as for many of our posts I am writing. I want to demonstrate and killing the narrative for the genius algorithm, I hope more people will have the opportunity to use it.

So when you hear these claims, be critical and don’t let it be the reason not to start with him.

The media is guilty

I am usually not someone to call it “False Media”, but in this case I fell that the media did not live up to its responsibility and a naive way AA followed the hype and corporate press releases without taking the critical appearance that is in many ways that separates newspapers from other sources of information.

I often wonder how the Danish news stations (where I live) can have a correspondent of Egypt, but not an or even a correspondent of deep technology. Egypt events may not be so important for everyday life in mine and many other places besides it have begun to have.

I really hope the media will improve here and not keep it in a mystified atmosphere.

The future of algorithms he

I am very sure that the future for algorithms is data. Large technology companies like Openai, Deepmind, Google, Facebook and Apple will be what will develop genius algorithms and often release them in nature to use them. It is now happening and we will only see more of that. So the claim that there is a genius algorithm is not most likely a real claim in the future.
