Contact Congress: Reject President’s Budget proposal and support IMLS, NEH and NPS
Last week left the White House FY26 Recommendations for the Federal Budget. The proposal eliminates the National Tender for the Humanities and Museum and Library Services (Iml) Institute and reduces the support of the National Park service by hundreds of millions of dollars (NPS). This is the latest attack of the federal agencies that help the development of the American public community.
Although this budget is a proposal, it is just one suggestion. Congress holds the “purse’s power”. Use the following links to support your representatives in Congress Imls, Nehand Nps. Earlier, our field was successfully mobilized against the proposed incisions, and we can do this again.
Contact Congress: Do not increase tax burden in non-commercial areas
The Congress is working on a tax fee to expand tax reductions in force in 2017. These cuts will increase the federal debt very much. To reduce this increase, Congress reviews a number of offers It will impose taxes to this non-profit authorities or significantly restrict the types of organizations in accordance with non-profit status. If it comes into effect, these proposals will have a negative impact on any historical organization designated as non-commercial, including AASLH.
Use this form Congress delegation to oppose these proposals.
