The best founders ever seen now in legal technology – artificial lawyer

At the Conference of Legal Innovators in California earlier this month, Ion levyA managing director in the legendary incubator and investor, Y Combinator, said: ‘We invest in talent and we are seeing some of the best people we have ever seen in legal technology now.’
He then referred to immediately Max JunestrandCEO and co-founder of Legora-A company that y combs has invested and continues to return. They have also supported through incubator and/or invested in several other legal technology companies, such as & he.
Comments came as part of a panel with Zach Abramowitz AND Chris Fisher of many partners of entrepreneurship on the topic of legal technology investment – and why it seems that smart money is now falling on themselves to finance beginnings in this sector.

Levy also emphasized that when it comes to choosing to invest, it is always people – ‘talent’ – that mattered. IE smart, directed, creative founders can be applied to many problems and will come with something. So if the idea X does not work, they can direct and continue to create values.
Moreover, Levy noted that the smartest founders are drawn to ‘difficult problems’ and legal is a difficult problem, given its complexity.
As for the best talent that was now coming about legal technology, Al gets this to imply not that really smart people were not creating startups in this sector before – they were – on the contrary people who probably have no immediate connection to the rule of law, (and who are not your classics’ have worked on a big law for two years) and set up for two years). the combination incubator, specifically, in particular to make law.
Meanwhile, Fisher added that legal technology is particularly interesting as it is a market segment where it has a lot of expenses, and is one with high -cost solution. People (in this sector) cost a lot. And there are high costs to do this job within a company and also outside with councilors.
IE If you want to find a new and profitable market segment, see where there is a lot of money flowing through it – but where there (even now) is a little technology that is applied to how work is actually done. Therefore, there is a lot of room for software companies to grow and create value.
The panel also agreed that 1) This is still the first days for legal technology; 2) ‘Of course some (legal) jobs will leave’; and 3) There will be no scenario ‘winner gets all’ for legal technology.

Other memorable comments included one of the co -founder of the Flation Law Group, Leonard Nuanawho noted that he is still not as good as a trained lawyer and the market needed to stay in mind.
He also then gave a line of conference that people are so excited about what this technology can do is like ‘All are in the back room of backing in Genai ‘… 🙂
Gc i harvey John Labarre It gave a strong note and raised the idea that two agents would eventually be able to end a negotiation – and this really looks completely realistic in the coming years. (In fact, some may even claim it can be done now …)

Other comments from speakers
- The number of staff a company has no longer a good reference point to judge its success.
- It will help reduce the burning of a lawyer.
- Free time – created by him – can be filled with training.
- There is a challenge with a suitable approach to a size for users, as some will be ‘scared to use it, some may work with him, and others may become’ fraudulent users ‘and they need to be controlled’.
- Adding it to the legal firms and inhouse is not just a chance to add technology, but an opportunity to find a whole new approach to each workflow.
- He’s just here now – it’s like the Internet, and you can’t tell people not to use the Internet.
- For the first time, corporate technology teams are in accordance with legal teams (which they want to use too).

And this ends in the second part of the legal innovators Insights from California. The first part is here. It was a great event and these remembered comments are just a piece of what was divided on stage and in the exhibition areas.
