When life becomes very annoying, some people turn to slow TV for a place of meditative distraction. It can be a view of the landscape that crosses a 10-hour train trip, the fish footage that swim around in a large water reservoir, or even a video of a cozy log fire.
The genre has now been given a cosmic turn after Spacex shared a four-hour video showing the view from his Dragon crew capsule during the late Fram2 mission.
Fram2 included the first flight of human space over the Earth’s poles, with four non-professional astronauts spending a few days in orbit. The crew traveled around the Earth at a height ranging from about 126 miles (202 kilometers) to its lowest point at 257 miles (413 kilometers) at the highest level.
The crew was able to enjoy the amazing view of the earth, and thanks to the new spacex video, you can too.
This special crew dragon had a docking adapter (used for docking with the international space station) replaced with a glass cube from which the crew could enjoy wonderful land views and beyond. Look carefully and you will see them looking out of it.
Spacex often separates clips from his missions – just yesterday she posted a much shorter version of the video you see here – so this longer is a real treatment for fans of orbital views as well as slow TV.
Fram2 began on April 1, with the All-Civilian crew led by entrepreneur Chun Wang. Far from the taste of stunning landscape, Crewmembers also conduct scientific research directed to assist future long -term space missions. They also studied the polar regions of the land and their general spatial environment.
Slow TV is a television genre that includes long broadcasts of ordinary events, presented with minimal editing, narrative or dramatic elements. She began in Norway about 15 years ago and became known because of her soothing nature, offering viewers a contemplative, inclusive experience. If you’ve never tried it, here is a great opportunity!
