Microsoft continues the gradual removal of classic control of control in Windows 11. Now there are options for the keyboard in the modern settings app. The change is currently hidden in interior buildings.

Microsoft continues its long -term plan to gradually replace classic control of control in Windows 11 with modern application settings. The latest Windows 11 insider builds on the Dev and Beta channel now contain another migration. The keyboard speed settings are moved from the control system to the settings.

Specifically, these are two functions. On the one hand, the delay of the character’s repetition (how long a button must be pressed before a mark is placed again). On the other hand, Microsoft migrates the repeated rate (how quickly the signs are repeated). As before, users can adjust these parameters through sliders in the new implementation and test the settings directly in an entry field.

Hidden function in current interior constructions

Change was made by the well -known Windows Insider @Phantomofearth to x detected and divided. The account is known for its ability to find the functions hidden in the pre-defense of Windows, which Microsoft has not yet officially notified.

As Phantomofearth reports, the new function in current internal constructions has been disabled as default. After activation, users will find new settings under the “Settings> Barrier Freedom” keyboard. In consistent versions of Windows 11, these options are still located in the control system under the “keyboard> Speed”.

Long -term strategy

Converting keyboard settings are part of Microsoft’s slow but continuous strategy to replace the control system that has existed for decades with the most modern settings application. This process already started with Windows 8 and continued with Windows 10 and 11. However, migration is far away. There are still a number of settings only on the control panel.

More migrations in recent times

In recent months, Microsoft has already transferred several other functions from the control control to the settings. This includes, for example, mouse trail options and hide the cursor while entering the text. Gradual migration illustrates Microsoft’s effort to modernize Windows 11 and standardize the user interface. At the same time, the company is careful not to remove long -time Windows users that are familiar with classic control control and are satisfied.

The control control has been an integral part of the operating system since Windows 1.0 (1985) and has been developed in a wide configuration center for nearly four decades. With Windows 8 (2012), Microsoft first introduced the modern application settings, which initially offered only basic functions.

Since then, the company has followed the strategy of operating both systems in parallel and gradually migratory functions. For powerusers and IT administrators, the control system continues to have an important tool, as it still offers deeper configuration options in many areas than the apps. Complete replacement is therefore likely to last for several years.
